This place is called "Arrow Lane", a lane less than 1000 meters from north to south, yet it boasts a diverse culture and history. Arrow Lane got its name because it was a practice archery range for Manchu officials during the Qing Dynasty.
There's also a Tibetan Buddhist monastery—Manjushri Temple. The temple was established in the Ming Dynasty and has a long history with a unique architectural style.
In the 1990s, arrow Lane underwent expansion. After learning about the history of this alleyway, walking through it feels like you can still hear the clip-clop of horse hooves and the whoosh of arrows.
